Edukacja włączająca kluczem do sukcesu pedagogicznego

Membership in the EU creates great opportunities for Polish schools, but also poses new challenges to headteachers and teachers: adapting education to the changing needs of the labor market (technological progress, competitiveness on the labor market in times of global economic crisis) and the needs of a multicultural society. These aspects should also be accessible to people with disabilities. Meeting these tasks is possible thanks to the use of modern organizational solutions that allow to improve the quality of educational services - participation in the project enabled the beneficiaries to learn about these solutions. Principals and teachers got acquainted with the Spanish model of vocational education, which is strongly open to people with fewer opportunities. The exchange of experiences was a hint on how schools can improve their own curricula, implement new procedures, apply proven educational and upbringing solutions (work with students with special educational needs), enrich the educational offer tailored to the needs of the labor market, and start cooperation with the labor market and universities

The main objective of the project was to build awareness and work skills of teachers with students who, due to their differences or disabilities, have problems with acquiring knowledge, interpersonal relationships or life in the school community. Additional goals were to learn about the pedagogical and didactic aspects of working with students with special developmental needs and educational problems resulting from their diversity. As a public institution that has been dealing with improving the quality of teachers' work for years, we feel the community's responsibility to ensure that the development of teaching skills of the teaching staff enables each student to obtain an equivalent education. As a result of our project work, we would like the teachers of secondary schools from Dąbrowa Górnicza to gain experience in working with students with various problems that prevent or hinder normal learning at school. Teachers will achieve this by participating in school activities held in a school with special needs in Spain.

In accordance with the assumptions of the project, we implemented two activities: 1) trip of 10 teachers from Dąbrowa Górnicza to Spain on June 13-17, 2022, where they completed a 20-hour training conducted by Spanish special education specialists and participated in job shadowing during classes with students with special needs 2) On September 14-16, 8 teachers from Spain participated in a conference in Poland organized by the Leader of the FSTZN project in cooperation with the Department of Education in Dąbrowa Górnicza, under the slogan "Inclusive education - a way to support social cohesion.

In accordance with the assumptions of the project, the participants created an advisory unit in the field of inclusive education. The advisory point is located in one of the schools in Dąbrowa - ,,Techniczne Zakłady Naukowe". The teachers work with the Department of Education. They organize meetings, consultations, and psychological and pedagogical counselling. They are in constant contact with Spanish teachers and are constantly looking for new solutions that can be implemented in Polish schools. The consultation point is becoming more and more popular among teachers and parents seeking support for their problems. A group of Polish and Spanish teachers participating in the project constantly cooperates, exchanges experiences and solves problems together
