Think Green

During the analysis of educational activities carried out at the school, we found that one of the important activities of the school should be ecological education. As a facility located in rural areas, we should educate young people about ecology because the future will depend on them. A group of teachers was established to prepare an analysis of problems related to eco education. We started looking for partners who would be interested in exchanging experiences on this topic. Additionally, we wanted to diversify educational methods, so we linked ecological issues with various educational forms. Ecological issues are very broad concepts, so we decided that each school would prepare one of the ecological problems and present them using one modern educational method. This allowed for precise planning of activities and optimization of effects. We have created a clear action plan and divided the issues between partners. In this way, each partner had clearly defined tasks and goals to achieve. We planned the participation of non-governmental organizations as a form of support and an innovative approach to schools' activities.

During the project, we completed all planned activities. The most important were: - creating a website that became a platform for information about individual activities and a form of project promotion and sharing knowledge with others; - Twinspace – a platform where we posted project results on an ongoing basis; - a brochure was created containing scenarios of ecological classes using modern educational methods; - multimedia presentations regarding one of the problems faced by our partners - urban sprawl, i.e. the expansion of cities at the expense of rural areas; - an e-book was created on endangered animal species in each country (4 species per country); - preparation and dissemination among teachers of an educational method related to the presentation of material using an e-book; - preparation and presentation to teachers of a new educational method - computer games on ecological problems; - an Erasmus corner (project corner / leaflet) was prepared in each school; - schools gained experience in presenting results on the Erasmus+ Project Results Platform; - presentations on ecological problems were prepared.

As a result of the project, we achieved the intended results. Specific results: presentations on changes in the cities of Iasi, Carsmba, Ostrów Wielkopolski; flipbook - 4 endangered species in each country, 7 presentations on: water, air, soil pollution, noise, deforestation, recycling, global threats; 7 eco computer games (computer games), examples of lesson plans using the methods used. Students deepened their knowledge of ecology, which we examined by conducting surveys at the end of the activities. Teachers learned about modern teaching methods and introduced them as part of teaching activities in schools. Schools have become leaders in modern ecological education in their environments, and the acquaintances and skills acquired in the field of application, implementation and settlement of projects meant that all partners showed interest in subsequent projects. An interesting result of the project is the creation of an alley of oaks planted next to a school in Poland, which will commemorate this project. Additional results of this project also include the interest of nearby schools in the project and their willingness to join the group of Erasmus schools.
