Objectives

First of all, it was important to establish good cooperation between the partners, which is crucial to the success of the project. Both sides wanted to obtain as much information as possible about the activities of each unit and how they implement the training process. ID has experience in implementing vocational courses, but lacks the knowledge of modern digital technologies that can be used in imparting substantive and practical knowledge. 3DL has specialized in teaching materials in VR, AR, MR, but has no experience in VET. The exchange of experience and transfer of knowledge between partners was key to developing the result envisioned in the project proposal. When establishing cooperation, the partners wanted to develop a training program and teaching materials for effective VET education in RES. However, it was important not to develop general information, as these are usually available. Here it was about well-prepared factual and detailed educational materials that will realistically support the educational process. An important element of the project was the discussion undertaken on the use of VR for effective knowledge transfer in VET education.

Activities

The project involved knowledge transfer between partners. The Institute of Consulting transferred information in the field of RES, including mainly the subject of heat pumps. The foreign partner analyzed the data and based on it developed teaching materials in virtual reality technology. The partners participated in regular meetings to monitor the progress of the project. Trips were made by representatives of both partners to partner countries (Poland and Norway) to learn about ways to transfer knowledge and education systems. The first versions of VR-based teaching materials were developed and tested in schools in Poland and Norway. The VR goggle kits necessary for successful testing were purchased as a result. Students and teachers, after testing the solution, evaluated the method of presentation (attractiveness, content coverage) and suggested possibilities for improving the developed materials. A conference was held to summarize the results of the project, to which representatives of organizations involved in VET education and students, among others, were invited. The final developed teaching materials have been placed on the ID educational platform and offer new training courses

Impact

The result of the project is a training program and teaching materials, based on VR, in the field of heat pumps. The partners have developed an effective solution, based on reworked tools recommended by 3DL. The implemented innovative teaching model will raise the level of training in the field of heat pumps implemented by the Institute of Consulting, among others. The project will also result in knowledge transfer and thus improve quality assurance in vocational education and training. Both partners have developed international cooperation. Mobility of staff increased the knowledge and motivation of the trip participants, influenced the culture of the institution and its competitiveness. Participation in the project helped promote European integration, intercultural awareness, openness to linguistic diversity, respect for different traditions, enriched the participants with knowledge of other countries.
