Summary

By implementing that project; we aimed to achieve to show our students, who are born and raised in the information society, the ways to add meaning to what they know, to help them transform information into behavior, and to educate young people who adopt 21st-century skills, have critical and creative thinking skills, product and result-oriented work and use digital tools, by supporting the online and offline tools that we will use on our education and training processes on all branches. Moreover, we also aimed to support the upbringing of the generations who can transform what they learn into behavior, take social and environmental responsibilities, and adopt lifelong learning as a principle, and ultimately to educate young people who know their responsibilities towards society and the environment they live in, especially in the sense of the future of our world, who have understood the importance of sustainable environmental development and realized what they can do about it.

Objectives

The concrete objectives of our project were: - To increase public awareness about environmental issues, starting at schools, - To explore possible solutions to current environmental issues, - To lay the foundations for a fully informed and active participation of individuals in the protection of the environment and the prudent and rational use of natural resources, - To encourage pupils to examine and interpret the environment from a variety of perspectives-physical, geographical, biological, sociological, economic, political, technological, historical, esthetic, and ethical. - To arouse pupil's awareness and curiosity about the permaculture lifestyle(Permaculture is, amongst others, an approach to land management that adopts arrangements observed in flourishing natural ecosystems) and - To encourage active participation in resolving environmental problems.

Activities

Mainly, we implemented 2 Transnational project meetings ( one in Afyon by coordinating school and one in Ergene in Turkiye) and 2 learning teaching training activity ( one in Cantabria in Spain and one in Fano in Italy) in the scope of the project. The details of implementation of our project can be seen in our internet/digital platforms: -GDrive for common documentation: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1EccCg7EVHpiCqwotaaubkF_QW15Zh1rj - Google groups for common and official documentation and communication: https://groups.google.com/g/sustainable_environment_ka210 - Facebook group for dissemination: https://www.facebook.com/groups/4517 --Website: https://www.permaculturacantabria.com/sustainable-environment_a-key-to-sustainable-life/ - Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCiUr-pyfleOk0YJQXQXblYA - eTwinning: https://school-education.ec.europa.eu/tr/etwinning/projects/sustainable-environment-key-sustainable-life/twinspace We created project logo, website, two permaculture gardens, brochures during LTTAs, e-learning platform MOODLE, eTwinning project with 11 partners from different schools and countries, 7 e-magazines and a youtube channel with 12 videos by project students, participated two Erasmusdays.

Impact

We implemented various activities such as LTT activity for teachers on EE (Environmental Education and Permaculture Methodology in Education), exploration of the water and soil ecosystems in the homeland, created research teams and tried to find solutions to the current environmental problems to maintain water and soil ecosystems and we did students exchanges in partner schools to work on the final products. Permaculture had many branches including ecological design, ecological engineering, regenerative design, environmental design, and construction. Project results were totally related to environment and sustainability in the environment and with the help of final products which we managed. Besides we improved the digital skills and competencies, some soft skills such as creative thinking, situational awareness, problem-solving, self-motivation, and responsibility of pupils. In the scope of the project we created tangible results such as digital games (after two LTTA by Ergene), e-magazines (3 by students in Ergene and 4 by students in Afyon after LTTA in Italy) , a Youtube channel (by students in Ergene after LTTA in Spain), posters eTwinning project and organized permaculture gardens, (1in Ergene DDoNE and 1 in Afyon SDSHS)
