Agriculture 4.0

Agriculture is undergoing profound change due to the introduction of digitalisation, automation and precision farming - often referred to as 'Agriculture 4.0'. This change requires new qualifications and an adaptation of agricultural vocational training to modern technologies. The project's partner institutions have recognised that there is a lack of uniform training opportunities and comparable training standards for Agriculture 4.0 in Europe. The project was set up to close this gap, facilitate the transfer of knowledge between the partner countries and promote innovative teaching methods in vocational training.

The project aims to enhance vocational education and training (VET) by developing structured learning modules focused on digital farming. By integrating modern technologies into training curricula, students and trainers gain hands-on experience with Agriculture 4.0 tools, improving their digital competence and practical skills. A key aspect of the project is the exchange of best practices in digital agriculture among European partner institutions. This collaboration fosters knowledge sharing and innovation, ensuring that VET programs remain aligned with technological advancements in the agricultural sector. Sustainability is also a central focus, with the project promoting the integration of smart farming techniques that optimize resource use and minimize environmental impact. By adopting these practices, agricultural education contributes to a more efficient and eco-friendly industry. Furthermore, the project aims to improve employability within the agricultural sector by aligning vocational training with labor market needs. By equipping students with relevant skills and knowledge, they are better prepared for the evolving demands of the industry, increasing their career opportunities and professional growth.
