We aimed to address the pressing challenges of aging populations by fostering inclusion, active aging, and intergenerational learning. Our objectives included increasing seniors’ social inclusion and participation in meaningful activities, bridging generational divides, and motivating seniors to stay active and digitally literate. We sought to deliver a methodology and educational materials to empower seniors to transfer their knowledge and experiences to children while cultivating lifelong learning through reverse mentoring, where seniors gained digital and basic English skills, and children developed soft skills and empathy. BETA also prioritized training adult educators, social workers, and professionals in elder and child care services to implement innovative intergenerational approaches. Key goals included breaking down stereotypes around ageism, creating ties with local communities, and forming a vibrant network of municipalities to promote active aging policies. Through tools like the BETA platform, Toolkits, LTTAs, and policy recommendations in the BETA Theory and Practice guidebook, we laid the foundation for sustained inclusion and innovation in lifelong learning across Europe.
