▶Objectives
The implementation of the LMI04.Dis_ABLED project aimed to enhance the active inclusion of people with disabilities in the labor market by eliminating barriers related to access to relevant labor market information and providing tailored career guidance services. The project’s ultimate goal was to improve the quality of life and self-esteem of people with disabilities by expanding their employment opportunities and fostering their contribution to society, thereby helping to reduce unemployment rates and social exclusion.
▶Activities
The LMI04.Dis_ABLED project implemented activities to promote the inclusion and accessibility of people with disabilities in the labor market. Twenty accessible emerging jobs were researched, creating a detailed guide of occupations, skills and career paths, also adapted in “easy-to-read” format. These materials were reviewed by job counselors and people with disabilities to ensure their usefulness. Since job counselors lacked specific training, a competency manual and a training program on job information tools and inclusive practices were developed. In Spain, two representatives from each partner were trained to replicate this training in their countries, training 15 professionals per-country, who provided feedback to improve the program. Finally, a digital system was designed with self-assessment tools, professional navigation, and a chatbot. This system, complemented with 360 videos and inclusive infographics, was tested by 15 professionals and 15 people with disabilities in each country of the consortium, ensuring its effectiveness and adaptability.

Work Package 2 resulted in a structured guide on labor market information, featuring adapted professional information resources and insights available for people with disabilities in a constantly evolving job market. This guide will be accompanied by an 'easy-to-read' version, tailored to the needs of people with disabilities, so that training, career guidance, and social inclusion professionals can use it directly with individuals with disabilities as a tool to support informed decision-making. Work Package 3 led to the development of a competency manual, which established European standards for professionals working with people with disabilities, along with a curriculum on labor market information designed for professionals supporting this group. Finally, Work Package 4 implemented a Digital Career Information System, serving as an interactive tool for professionals and end-users, aimed at fostering active participation and employability among people with disabilities. This system integrated various interfaces, including: Competency and interest interface; Career information interface; Career navigation interface; Career interaction interface.
