Objectives

The project created innovative teaching tools to facilitate the learning and assessment of the soft skills development in people with disabilities. The project focused on the increase of the training offer to promote their employability. The realization of the products interested some research, template of training modules, evaluation forms and a brief manual with guidelines. All this material represents a proposal, a ready-made product that each teacher/trainer/entertainer can consult, modify or enhance, according to their professional competence and together with the collaboration of support teachers or inclusion experts. Furthermore, the soft skills were identified in relation to the professions having the greatest employment impact in the labour market, in the medium and long term. The outdoor training workshops were identified and tested in those territory areas (Upper Tuscany and Madrid) where summer campus usually take place such as other outdoor activities addressed also to young disabled people. All these actions represent an important means of the soft skills development. Finally, the dissemination of the project results will concern the creation of an online platform.

Activities

On the basis of the labour market needs, detected through some research published by national and local authorities, the project identified 20 professions and the 10 related soft skills strategic for employability The soft skills were defined through surveys and research, report and analysis of companies, carried out by project partners and supporters. The project partners designed some training courses including specific outdoor activities and also different evaluation forms, to support the analysis of the participants' behaviour. All this products contributed to the development of the 10 soft skills. These tools were then tested: the disabled people carried out the proposed activities under the supervision of a specific team of operators (trainers, inclusion experts, outdoor activity experts). Finally this team analysed the feedback obtained during the experimentation phase. They structured the final revision of the activities and the related evaluation procedures. The team examined all the training and evaluation sheets and drew up a manual proposing some guidelines on the use of the products created.

Impact

The project achieved its goal fostering the use of more suitable approaches in respect of the individual expectations and the companies demand. The project aim concerns the integration of young people with disabilities in the labour market. On this basis the project developed new training methods and procedures, to foster the learning of the soft skills more required by companies in relation to disabled people. In addition it elaborated tools for a successful design of training activities based on outdoor workshops and also a codified evaluation process related to the development of these skills. The project has realized 3 products to be shared with trainers, people who work in the field of disabilities and human resources experts. The first product concerns the identification of the 20 professions most in demand in the labour market in Spain and in Italy. This research also identified the 10 soft skills transversally linked to the indicated figures. The second regards the analysis of 35 territorial areas in Spain and Italy that can be used for outdoor training workshops. Finally the third is related to the creation of 30 activities and the corresponding assessment and certification tools.
