Objectives

The overall goal of the ActiveSeniors project was to improve social inclusion and quality of life of elderly people (65+ age group) as well as increasing capacities and networking of project partners organizations in respective fields. The specific objectives of this project were the following: (1) to present healthy diet for elderly people based on principles of Mediterranean nutritional system (2) to improve knowledge of elderly people in the area of healthy diet in order to increase their physical and metal health (3) to increase health literacy of elderly people in order to ensure quality of ageing (4) to improve competencies of knowledge sharing among elderly people peers in order to ensure active aging (5) to improve competencies and networking of project partners organization in the area of adult people education as well as promotion of active and healthy ageing.

Activities

The following activities were implemented during the project implementation: A1: Project Management; A2: Building Capacity and Improving Networking; A3: Communication and Dissemination, A4: Competencies Improvement and Building Networking, A5: Creating Guidance of Healthy Diet for Elderly People. Each activity consisted of specific aims and tasks. Tasks under A1: Project management were orientated to ensuring successful and smooth implementation of all project activities as well as achieving planned results. Tasks under A2: Building Capacity and Improving Networking involved employees of Gyvenimo būdo medicinos asociacija (Lithuania) and 3 employees of Fondazione Dieta Mediterranea. Training sessions and workshops were organised. Tasks under A3: Communication and Dissemination activity comprised communication events and promotional articles. Tasks under A4: Competencies Improvement and Building Networking activity encompassed workshops in Italy and Lithuania. Tasks under A5: Creating Guidance of Healthy Diet for Elderly People were dedicated to develop Guidance of Healthy Diet for Elderly People.

Impact

The main concrete output of the project is prepared electronical guidance of healthy diet for elderly people. Other results of the project are the following (1) completed trainings (2) implemented workshops (3) implemented lectures (4) published promotional articles. Overall, these outputs and results demonstrate the tangible impact of the ActiveSeniors project in promoting the health, well-being, and social inclusion of elderly individuals. Through a combination of educational resources, interactive sessions, and outreach efforts, the project has contributed to empowering seniors to lead active and fulfilling lives. On the other hand, project outputs and results were significant for both Beneficiary and Partner organisations. Employees of Beneficiary and Partner organisations enhanced expertise and skills development, strengthened collaboration and networking, increased satisfaction and motivation, expanded outreach and visibility.
