▶Objectives
The intention of this project was: to build teachers' awareness of the subject of educational work, and to shape students' critical attitudes in the perception of network resources and to involve them in creating actions supporting noble activities and to mobilize students to act in partnership with teachers to achieve noble goals. It was also planned that the project results will serve all interested parties as methodological tools to be used during classes aimed at shaping young people's criticism, understanding the threats of being online and taking responsibility for their behavior online. The project's objectives described in this way fulfill the necessary and important need for societies and communities to develop the ability to use the Internet wisely and honestly. A sense of responsibility is an inherent element of such education. Building teachers' awareness of shaping this type of attitudes in students is the starting point for their educational activities.
▶Activities
In accordance with the adopted instructions, three meetings were held in partner schools, devoted to topics that make up the entire issue covered in this project. The main goal of the project was to build students' and teachers' awareness of the benefits and threats of using the Internet. The materials developed during the project were widely disseminated so that they could be used to shape appropriate attitudes of network users. Before the start of implementation, a meeting of representatives of partner schools was held, during which details related to project management were agreed. We have established cooperation with research workers from the JP II University in Krakow. Cooperation with a research institution in Warsaw was planned, but due to the costs (which increased significantly due to inflation), cooperation was initiated with a closer (in terms of distance) university, whose institute of media and social communication is recognized and its employees were willing to cooperate . Before the meeting at our school, they conducted workshops in which partners participated online. During the meeting, further workshop sessions were held in stationary form.
▶Impact
International cooperation during the project implementation provided many benefits to both students and teachers. The students improved their key competences, established friendly contacts with the participants, and experienced a wonderful educational adventure that shaped their sense of European citizenship and often changed their plans for further education. Teachers gain non-standard professional experience and learn the systems and methods of educational work of teachers from other countries. Cultural activities and trips carried out during the mobility allowed participants to learn about the history, culture and customs of partner countries. The completed project involved the entire school community through activities promoting the project, observations of subsequent project tasks, and participation in an event summarizing the project and presenting its results. In May 2024, at the Secondary School in Sucha Beskidzka, there will be workshops for teachers conducted by UJP II research workers on the topics covered during the project. The idea for such a training is the result of a project that showed how important it is to develop appropriate attitudes online and teachers need support in this aspect.
