▶Objectives
By implementing the project, we aimed to strengthen the psychophysical condition of various school communities, mainly students aged 12 to 15 with various educational needs. We wanted the project participants to develop and strengthen selected key competences. While carrying out the project tasks, we wanted the students to improve the level of their linguistic competence - by communicating in English and in their native languages. In terms of social competence, we wanted to integrate students by teaching them cooperation, planning and implementing social activities, promoting health and ecology. Thanks to cultural activities, they became more aware recipients and participants of culture, as well as its creators. We also wanted them to become more open-minded, tolerant and empathetic through contact with different cultures. Through physical activity, ecological, social and civic activities, including health and culture, we ensured the exchange of ideas on counteracting isolation caused by the pandemic. We wanted students to use digital resources skilfully, enhancing digital competences by communicating online, preparing outputs of activities using the digital tools they had learned. We wanted to develope digital competences.
▶Activities
The activities implemented in the project focused on main areas: Getting to know each other, Contact with nature, Cultural heritage, Healthy lifestyle, LTTA visits. As part of getting to know each other, the pupils made digital presentations about themselves, talked to their project partners via videoconferencing and communicated via Twinspace on the eTwinning platform. The teachers organised a preparatory visit to Portugal to plan the activities. Everyone got to know each other directly during visits to Poland and Portugal. Environmental activities were carried out on a regular basis. We did a Christmas recycling workshop, a school Christmas decorations exchange, nature corners, a workshop on making eco-friendly cosmetics, forest bathing and recording the sounds of nature, walks, workshops on creating original bookmarks and magnets with regional and floral motifs. We chose eco-friendly means of transport: a train and an electric melex. As for the cultural heritage, the pupils exchanged information about traditions (boxes and digital boards about traditions, national dances and games, trips, creative traditional workshops). The theme of healthy lifestyles was implemented through sports and cooking workshops.
▶Impact
The main outcome of the project is a digital catalogue of good practice based on the project results for the use of partner schools and others, for educators, available in three languages: Polish, Portuguese, English. Through the implementation of many cyclical and varied activities in the planned areas in the local and international environment, we developed linguistic, cultural, social, environmental and digital competences. Peer and intercultural relations as well as the psycho-physical condition of the project participants (pupils and even teachers) have been improved. According to the surveys conducted among the students, the project allowed them to experience new learning challenges, through which they developed their foreign language and technology skills, tested themselves in social activities and discovered the potential of local and distant cultural heritage in their lives. Owing to the activities promoting health and ecology they have become more aware how nature affects a young person's wellbeing and health. Both the pupils and the teachers have been equipped with extra-curricular knowledge and have involved themselves in local and international activities.Other results are: Erasmus+Clubs, nature corners.
