▶Objectives
The project aimed to increase young people's interest in plumbing education by making vocational training more attractive through the transfer of knowledge about modern, environmentally friendly technologies used in plumbing installations along with solutions that contribute to water and energy savings; to promote Union civic participation in and transfer the European dimension to the local level by activating young people from Poland and the Czech Republic through participation in competitions testing their knowledge and skills; and promotes the inclusion of disadvantaged groups by activating young women as a disadvantaged group in the plumbing industry. Exchanging good practices by jointly preparing tasks and documentation for the preliminaries, national competitions, and participation of the best contestants from Poland and the Czech Republic, selected in the SkillsPoland and Czech Skills national competitions. Preparation of the winners from both countries, through study visits, educational workshops, and thematic training, for participation in the plumbing and heating competition at the EuroSkills ‘23 international competition.
▶Activities
Activities carried out in Poland and the Czech Republic: preparation and execution of regional qualifications for national competitions and selection of competitors, partnership meetings for selection of products to perform tasks at national competitions; check and practical verification of tasks for national competitions at test stands; documentation for the preliminaries and national competitions; preparation execution of a campaign to promote the events among VET institutions, execution of national competitions. Preparation of competitors from Poland and the Czech Republic for the EuroSkills '23: performance of tasks from WorldSkills Kazan, EuroSkills Graz, participation in the Skills Hungary competition (evaluation of competitors' skills); study visits: Wavin training center Czech Republic (plastic installations, connections - technologies, practice), KAN factory Bialystok (steel installations, plastics - technologies, practice), training room Warsaw (Wieland training - copper installations, technology, practice), Grohe training center and factory, Lahr (Grohe training technologies systems, products, practice) evaluation of competitors' skills - test stands and exchange of best practices between markets (schools Brno, Warsaw).
▶Impact
SkillsPoland and Skills Czech finalists won medals of excellence in the EuroSkills '23 competition. Both participated in a training program, prepared, and conducted in provided Grohe workshops and training rooms, by experts from the Czech Republic and Poland, vocational teachers involved in the project. They perfected, acquired, and tested in professional competitions (Skills Hungary), at training sessions at manufacturers (Wavin, KAN, Wieland, Grohe), their skills in plumbing and heating. A total of the participants in the regional eliminations: in Poland: 30 schools, 87 participants (10 ladies), 13 finalists (2 ladies); in Czech Republic: 56 schools, 112 participants (5 ladies), and 16 finalists (2 ladies). Conducting the nationwide qualifiers, as well as the SkillsPoland and SkillsCzech competitions, allowed us to establish new long-term relationships with many VET establishments in both countries. New GIVE training rooms were built at the most active VET schools. Many of the young people who participated in the preliminaries or the competitions declared their desire to start or continue their studies in plumbing-related subjects. Teachers and lecturers are very interested in the training offered by the two project partners.
