▶Objectives
The main aim of the project is the digital transformation of the microscopy teaching and learning, by setting a practical guide and steps to follow in order to achieve a cost-effective implementation and the successful use of virtual microscopy (VM) technology to improve the histology and histopathology curriculum in medical schools. Specific objectives: - Adaptation of the medical school curriculum of Histology and Histopathology at EU level, for innovative digital transformation by VM, within the WP2 - Digitalisation of the teaching of microscopy in a Medical education institute, within the setting up of the WP 3 -Virtual microscopy library Platform - Decrease of the differences between education systems in Eastern EU countries, by opening up opportunities with the Training guide of WP 4 - Increase in undergraduate and postgraduate students’ vocational skills for new, modern Medicine domains, within the course of WP5. The project support the students and the modernisation of the teaching of microscopy in Medical education institutes, being linked to the priority of stimulating innovation, addressing digital transformation through development of digital readiness, resilience, and capacity against any other worldwide restrictions
▶Activities
WP1 Management of the project supporting and ensuring the check of the progress, finances, administration, quality and achievement of project activities. WP2 Mapping research on setting up the EU curricula on histology and histopathology for the virtual microscopy digital transformation and the interview questionnaire addressed to teaching experts have been assessed and National reports, along with charts of standards, and a curricula have been elaborated, adding a list of target groups and a list of students. WP3 Virtual microscopy library Platform included the elaboration of the framework and the methodology of production of the VM slides, followed by a training session for all the partners’ teams, and by the elaboration of a guide of VM technique requirements. WP4 Training guide for advanced Virtual microscopy teaching in microscopy organized into 20 sections, according to the basic tissues of the human body and of the body systems (19 sections), along with a chapter dedicated to pathologists in training WP5 The Online Course was set and the open course on VM has been conducted, 20 multilingual chapters, and 40 MCQ based quizzes available, with a great success among undergraduate students during the piloting activities
