▶Summary
For many years software business evolved in such a way where the analysis, development and verification activities require specialized tools and workflows to be comply with. But this specialization makes a huge gap between sectors where software needed in high priority. The gap can be defined as “domain knowledge”. From software development perspective the domain knowledge is the workflows need to be understood where affects the software architecture to meet the real world problems and workflows. In contrary for non software perspective, domain knowledge can be defined as what to expect from a software to add value to the existing workflows and real world problems. This project is needed to narrow the gap between software development business and the railway business with a series of workshops. The gap is also defined at the reports of ManpowerGroup, which makes the most detailed analyzes on workforce analysis all over the world, conducts research using various dimensions.
▶Objectives
All parties in this project aimed to bring their knowledge to the table for sharing domain specific requirements and explaining the real-world needs with a series of joint workshops. At the end of the project a guideline was planned to be published explaining the workflows and the terminology used in railway domain that will be used as a guide for the future studies. Another achievement was the dissemination of the knowledge to the engineers in ICterra. Main objective of the project was directly related to the horizontal priorities of the call “Tackling digital transformation through digital readiness, resilience and capacity building”. The usability of the guides to be created in this context in hands-on vocational training was related to “applying to VET labor market needs”. Within the scope of the project, “Digital content, technologies and practices”, “Digital skills and competencies” and “Quality assurance” were also planned to be examined. The project aimed to be the 1st step in establishing a global center of excellence (CoC) in this regard.
