FLC | From Linear to Circular: Promoting Green Entrepreneurship and Employment Through Circular Business Models Design
▶Summary
The European Green Deal is nowadays the EU’s new growth strategy, aiming to transform the EU into a fairer and more prosperous society, with a modern, resource-efficient and competitive economy, with no net emissions of greenhouse gases by midcentury. According to European Commission tackling the climate and biodiversity crises is this generation’s defining task. The green transition has to be fair and just. All Europeans need to be able to benefit from this transition as fairly and as quickly as possible. Acoording to this background, the project wanted to enable VET learners, especially young people with fewer opportunities, through training and guidance, to realise their economic and social aspirations and rights, working in the circular economy as an entrepreneur. It contributes to set bridges between the VET System and the circular economy market. Enabling young people with fewer opportunities to act as players for circular economy it addresses two of the major priorities in EU: Inclusion and diversity and the European Green Deal.
▶Objectives
In the framework of a socially fair and transition to the Green Economy (GE) in the EU, this project aimed to create a COP and a workshop training approach for VET, to promote the ideation and development of new circular business models, to support the creation of micro companies (+ jobs) for the circular economy by the VET learners. The project addressed the disadvantaged people needs and promoted their inclusion in the socially fair transition to the GE. The following objectives can be stated: 1. Promotion of inclusion and diversity through entrepreneurship for circular economy 2. Creation of a Community of Practice (COP) among the project partners, and others, to debate and share resources in entrepreneurship 3. Development of a workshop based training course offer, for VET, that allows the ideation and design of circular business models, adapted to micro and small business and primarily directed to empower disadvantaged people. 4. Training concept for a group of trainers. 5. Multiplier Events to present and disseminate the project outputs.
