Objectives

The UpSenior project aimed to strengthen the financial literacy and practical financial skills of seniors aged 55+, addressing the challenges posed by a rapidly evolving financial environment. The project focused on empowering elderly participants to handle financial documentation confidently, understand various fees and national charges, and identify and mitigate potential financial threats. By boosting their self-confidence through targeted financial education, the UpSenior project equipped seniors with the tools to make informed decisions and manage their finances securely. Recognizing the growing prevalence of online transactions, the project also emphasized educating elderly participants about online payment systems, security risks, and strategies to protect against fraud. Additionally, it fostered critical thinking, enabling them to proactively adapt to financial risks and recognize unsafe practices. Last but not least, beyond individual empowerment, UpSenior aimed to lay the groundwork for systemic financial security policies, contributing to a safer financial ecosystem for older adults. This comprehensive approach sought to ensure long-term financial well-being and security for the senior population.
