โ–ถObjectives

- The project was designed with the aim of encouraging energy saving in the school and in the surrounding households, while promoting environmental awareness and the adoption of sustainable habits among both pupils and local communities. It was hoped to generate an active attitude of respect towards the natural environment, improve the quality of life of families and favour social, economic and ecological sustainability. To this end, activities were developed to encourage reflection on the use of resources, the impact of energy consumption and the need to protect emblematic natural spaces in the participating regions. In addition, the active participation of the entire educational community was promoted, including vulnerable groups - students at risk of exclusion - in order to achieve real and lasting change. The actions carried out made it possible to raise students' awareness of their role in caring for the environment and to reinforce their commitment to a fairer and more sustainable future. Many of the planned activities have been carried out and their effects and impact have been clearly perceived by the participants.

โ–ถActivities

- All the activities presented at the beginning of the project have been implemented. However, it is true that many of them could not be carried out according to the initial plan. This project was planned at the beginning of 2021 and in these four years, the economic costs have increased enormously. In order not to abandon any activity and to meet our objectives, many of them, as can be seen in the annexes provided and in the material uploaded to the results platform, have been reserved to be carried out during the visits to each of the partners, in order to save costs and to be able to carry out all the activities. A clear example is the visit to the solar plant or the recycling plant, which have not been carried out individually in each centre and could be carried out, as a group, in a specific visit. As far as the implementation of the project activities is concerned, some of them have been established permanently in the participating schools, such as the school garden with the composting machine, the bicycle parking, the water collector or the recycling bins. The school transport used has also changed, with an increase in the use of non-polluting transport.

โ–ถImpact

All the tasks carried out in the project have been displayed on the project's twinspace page: https://school-education.ec.europa.eu/en/etwinning/projects/city-sustainable-future-society. Specifically, the following project goals and results have been achieved: a-) We have managed to adopt, in a cooperative way and through interaction between all pupils, the local and educational community, a broader perspective with regard to economic and social inequalities, develop attitudes that favour the use of natural resources and energy sources and the use of sustainable means of transport. b-) We have achieved that the pupils acquire a wider and more diverse knowledge of their environment, of the cultural and social differences existing in our country and in the different European societies; respect, diversity and affability have been a constant in the project. c-) We have improved in the management of resources and cooperation between different partners. As can be seen in the meeting minutes (appendix I), the ability to reach agreements and make decisions has been a constant. d-) Academic improvement of the participating students.
