ALLinErasmus - Promoting participation in Erasmus for students at risk of social exclusion
▶Summary
Our consortium applied for ALLinErasmus because after hosting and sending VET Erasmus+ students for several years, we noticed the difficulties and doubts our students at risk of social exclusion face about participating in mobilities. We wanted to create tools that would help our staff support our students at risk, first understanding their background and challenges; secondly assisting them in the application process to go on Erasmus+; thirdly supporting them during the mobility; and lastly assisting them after returning, to ensure the Erasmus+ experience is fully profited. The needs we have addressed are: - The need to train our teachers and mobility managers in social exclusion - The need to train our teachers and mobility managers methods to encourage participation in mobilities of students at risk - The need to train our mobility managers in methods to manage Erasmus+ mobilities of students at risk - The need to increase the number of VET students at risk who participate in Erasmus+ mobilities
▶Objectives
Our consortium wanted to increase participation in mobilities of our students at risk of social exclusion, as well as to improve their mobility experience. Many of them did not feel secure participating in mobilities, believing they would not be able to manage the registration process, or they would not be able to live in another country by themselves. By creating a supporting circle trained in ALLinErasmus, who is informed about social exclusion and has resources for each step of the mobility process, we wanted to achieve a higher rate of students at risk going on Erasmus+. This was in line with our objective to increase the training opportunities in social inclusion for our staff, helping them feel prepared to organise and assist participating students. We aimed to build through our Success Stories a network of students who benefited from Erasmus+ mobilities, who will serve as example for future, potential participants. The Success Stories will be key in the exploitation of our project. Finally, we aimed to increase the awareness of EU opportunities among our organisations, but also our networks, showcasing the results of ALLinErasmus and the results from our Erasmus+ mobilities.
