The three European schools aimed at reaching a common scientific, cultural, and human reflection on responsible consumption and sustainability and develop positive environmental behavior among young people by using gripping lesson plans created on purpose as a joint result of the partnership. We wanted to provide pupils with environmental education, as stated by UNESCO, to make them more aware and conscious of environmental problems, to boost their interest in caring for and improving the environment, to enhance their ability to learn about their surroundings, to broaden their ecological knowledge in subjects such as energy, landscapes, air, water, and natural resources. We wanted to raise teachers’ and parents’ awareness and involvement in environmental education activities to make them understand they have a social responsibility in building the basis for children's future healthy mindsets and behaviours towards the environment. Our project developed as journey through partner countries’ environmental culture to raise awareness of our own environmental education teaching-learning approaches and share the best practices we use. In this context, European dimension and intercultural dialogue were essential

We opened the project in the eTwinning/ESEP platform and the project website draft was created to upload first results and materials. During our first meeting, we delivered mainly CLIL lessons which included practical activities for students to improve learning by doing, problem solving, and digital skills through the use of BYOD (mobile phones and tablets) methodology. The second meeting was held in in different dates on Turkish partner’s request and in a different venue than planned because of earthquake risk and lack of accommodation after the earthquake disastrous impact. We were hosted by a school in Salihli/Manisa by a school higly-involved in Erasmus+ and eTwinning activities. We addressed our lessons which included Clil lessons integrating Science experiments in the school gardens and English with Art to teach about healthy lifestyle. The third meeting were held in Slovakia where we implemented CLIL lessons about food waste, environmental pollution, the management of resources integrating digital tools and collaborative work to enhance critical thinking and problem solving. We also carried out surveys at the beginning and at the end of each transnational meeting to evaluate the learning progress

At the very beginning a contest was applied to choose the best project logo and the winning one was from Slovak team. We created and shared lessons plans related to the environment and teaching materials for teaching literacy and computing, science and physical education. In every meting we started a campaign on each subtheme: saving water and energy, zero food waste, management of waste). We produced videos and newsletters about the three meetings, carried out surveys in each meeting for pupils, teachers and parents. Pupils created presentations to introduce their communities, and their schools, maintained and updated eTwinning project and websites, posted in project social networks pages, posted in padlets and created some final products at the end of lessons in each partner schools (presentations, brochures, posters). Pupils created and updated their in-school Erasmus+ corners. We decided to produce a cookbook with traditional dishes and especially recipes made with zero km ingredients or made with scraps. Through these practical activities, students have increased their awareness of their social and environmental responsibility, they have improved their attitudes and behaviours towards the environment
