▶Objectives
The main goal of TOOL4CHILDREN was to contribute, in cooperation with the partner, to develop an app to promote physical activity in order to change the attitudes of 11-17 year olds towards physical and mental health and to develop the right skills for a healthy lifestyle. The need for the project was driven by the low physical activity levels and poor mental health of school- age children. The project helped to contribute to improving the academic, emotional, behavioral, health of target group. By developing a digital tool that encourages active participation in sports and physical challenges, the project aimed to combat childhood obesity, reduce social isolation, and improve mental health. Additionally, we wanted to foster positive attitudes toward health and well-being, encourage the formation of healthier habits, and build a supportive community where students can connect and collaborate across different social groups.
▶Activities
The project activities were carefully designed so that they follow up in time and logically, or complement and create individual project results. We implemented the main project activities: 1. Project management and implementation; 2. Developing a physical activity app; 3. Organizing transnational project meetings; 4. Dissemination and sustainability. All project activities were designed to achieve the planned results. Through transnational project meeting, the both organizations addressed project management and administrative issues. The project management and implementation activities were designed to ensure the execution of the project and the monitoring of its progress. The intellectual product produced by the activities led to the achievement of concrete project results. Dissemination events helped to make the results known to the public, to ensure their visibility, accessibility, and wider use.
▶Impact
The main output of the project: - Developed physical activity app: The app has been developed to help bring together like-minded people who want to exercise in their neighborhood, promoting the use of technology for health, increase physical activity, and to foster cooperation between different social groups. A fully functioning app was created to promote physical activity, with features such as user-generated sports challenges, tracking, and group activity planning. - App engagement: The app was downloaded and registered by 807 users, with an estimated approximately 300 students actively engaging in activities, contributing to increased physical activity and reduced social isolation. - Improved students attitudes towards physical and mental health. Through the app’s regular sports challenges, students developed healthier lifestyle habits, positively impacting their physical and mental health, reducing stress and fostering a more active community. - Enhanced International Collaboration: The project fostered a strong partnership between both partner organizations, enabling the sharing of best practices and contributing to the sustainability of project outcomes. Experience gained in international cooperation at the European level.
