Identification and improvement of skills of workers in the construction sector
▶Summary
We found a need in project partner countries to describe sector workers' s knowledge and skills acquired after graduating VET. We have planned and made self-evaluation tests for employees to measure and evaluate their professional competencies, and employers - to use information about the competencies acquired by employees. We have made training course content to improve construction sector employees about sector tendencies, green and sustainability issues, also work safety. We used our experience in this project - Smart minds has experience in Erasmus+ project management, building occupational standards, doing analyses, also on EU policies. Zhero was newcomer to this VET field but they have long experience in construction and work safety field. The project supports activities already implemented by both organizations and is in alignment with both organizations' aims. Need for creating a tool/mechanism for identification of skills, competences and knowledge acquired in a person's work in construction sector is recognized by sectors stakeholders already many years. We made tool for 2 professions - Installer of permanent anchoring systems on rooftops and Finishing Work Technician. The tool is transferable to other sectors
