โถObjectives
With Ask&Tell!, we aimed to make sex education more inclusive and accessible for those with fewer opportunities, particularly adult LGBT+ individuals with chronic illnesses and disabilities. Our primary goal was to create a sexual health education toolkit in the form of scenario cards designed to prompt discussions on LGBT+ sexuality. The project unfolded in four key phases. First, we conducted community-based participatory research to identify the needs of this group. Second, healthcare professionals, including LGBT+ health experts, developed the content. Third, an organization specializing in graphic accessibility designed the cards to accommodate a range of abilities and neurological conditions. The toolkit was made available in both analogue and open-access digital formats. Finally, we disseminated the toolkit online through the EPALE platform, a launch event and aseries of workshops. Our broad network ensured further distribution to schools, healthcare training programs, LGBT+ organizations, and NGOs working. By implementing this project, led by LGBT+ individuals, many of whom had lived experiences of chronic illness and disabilities, we enriched sex education at local and European levels.
