▶Objectives
- Assess Accessibility Across the 3 Countries: Conduct a needs assessment involving at least 30 public organisations responsible for implementing accessibility strategies to evaluate the current state of accessibility. - Train Technical Staff in Accessibility Literacy: Deliver 12 online crash course sessions (4 per country) on accessibility-related topics, training 20 technicians from public institutions to enhance their knowledge of legal frameworks, best practices, and implementation strategies. - Increase Participation and Awareness: Host the "ACCESSIBILITY TALKS" event, engaging 500 participants (both online and in-person), including professionals, stakeholders, and the general public; Achieve a broader impact by reaching 25,000 individuals through online dissemination of project materials, posts, and videos. - Promote Knowledge Sharing and Dissemination: Produce and distribute an accessibility toolkit, including training materials, an accessibility practical guide, and the impact assessment report, with a target of 100 downloads by the project’s conclusion. - Collect Feedback and Assess Impact: Gather 100 surveys from stakeholders and participants to evaluate project outcomes and measure the overall impact.
▶Activities
All activities were successfully executed as planned, achieving the expected outcomes and ensuring the overall objectives of the project were met: - A1 focused on the comprehensive management of the project, encompassing planning, coordination, and financial oversight, facilitated by regular online meetings and continuous monitoring. - A2 was successfully implemented through a needs assessment involving desk research, surveys, and data analysis to evaluate the accessibility status in Portugal, Spain, and North Macedonia. - A3 consisted of the development and delivery of an online training programme on accessibility, supported by materials in native languages, designed to empower technicians from public organisations. - A4 involved organising the hybrid event “ACCESSIBILITY TALKS,” held in Lisbon, where specialists shared diverse perspectives and experiences. All project partners were present in Portugal for the event. - A5 focused on effectively disseminating and communicating the project’s objectives and results through social media campaigns, promotional videos, and networking efforts. - A6 consisted of an assessment survey measured the project's impact and achievements, providing critical insights for the final report.
▶Impact
1. Assess Accessibility Across the 3 Countries: 2 distinct types of surveys were carried out (vs 1 foreseen) targeting different groups, adding depth to the Diagnostic Report: 182 responses, including 148 from people with disabilities, engaging 34 public entities vs 30 foreseen. 2. Train Technical Staff in Accessibility Literacy: Developed four online training modules, training 37 participants across three countries. Although fewer sessions took place, participation target has exceeded by +17 trained individuals. 3. Increase Participation and Awareness: "ACCESSIBILITY TALKS" event had 600 participants (in-person and online) vs 500 foreseen. Social media campaigns and structured communication efforts impacted over 1.039.693 indirect beneficiaries meeting the proposed goal. 4. Promote Knowledge Sharing and Dissemination: Produced an accessibility toolkit supported by the Diagnostic Report and training materials, widely shared as part of dissemination efforts, achieving 147 downloads vs 100 foreseen. 5. Feedback and Assess Impact: 137 feedback surveys were conducted during the project (vs 100 foreseen), including feedback from "ACCESSIBILITY TALKS" participants, other activities and all the project.
