▶Objectives
We aimed to develop an innovative common curriculum in mathematics teaching, to create rich course content and materials; thus, to eliminate students' mathematical anxiety, to develop their capacity to see mathematics in daily life, and to reduce early school dropout due to mathematics. By including disadvantaged students, we aimed to make learning reach a wider audience. We aimed to improve the digital skills of the participants through digital content production and the use of artificial intelligence tools. We aimed to contribute to their becoming individuals who are water literate, aware of efficient use of resources, sustainable agriculture and recycling, respectful of copyrights, whose participation in democratic life is strengthened, who know their rights and responsibilities, have developed organizational skills, are sensitive to the environment and have a developed awareness of European citizenship. We wanted to strengthen the teaching competencies of teachers, increase our institutional capacities, develop international cooperation skills and increase cultural interaction. With all of these, we aimed to improve the 21st century skills of direct and indirect beneficiaries.
▶Activities
With the Digitized Maths of Nature activity,the relationship between mathematical statistics and recycling of waste materials was established.DESMOS app was introduced and statistical graphs were created with guidance.Sample events of partners such as Eco School Network,Eco Club,TEKNOFEST,Zero Waste Project were shared and applied.In the cooking workshops in the Mathematics of Food,Climate Change and Recycling activity,the relationship between real life and mathematics was established with the emphasis on climate change,Sustainable Agriculture,Carbon Footprint, Recycling awareness and Water Literacy.Mathematical studies on food waste were carried out.International Maths Club Democracy and European Citizenship skills were developed by carrying out democratic elections, governance, voting and creating Statutes and Regulations.Digital Minecraft World Game,Quizzes,AI supported song were developed,added to the servers,and made available to the whole world with tutor videos.With the Geocaching app,orienteering was created for the use of the whole world in line with the project goals.A joint Essay book with ISBN was published and copyright awareness was reinforced.Website,Member Forum,Social media groups were established.
▶Impact
Permanent Orienteering targets have been created in many European cities in the Geocaching App.Mathematical and Ecological Minecraft World was developed,uploaded to the server,and shared publicly.Quizizz Competition was created and made available to everyone with QR code posters.Certificates of Participation and Europass certificates were issued.The International Maths Club,and a club group was established on TELEGRAM to ensure club continuity and to respect personal data.Club students designed various activities in line with the project goals and objectives,at least 3 students from different schools were invited and encouraged to implement them in their own schools.Club Statutes&Regulations,Meeting Minutes were created.The Maths Attitude Scale was re-applied and the results were found to be consistent with the expected target.Our book with ISBN was published,used as educational material in classes,and donated to various libraries.The rap music of our project was created with AI tools.Collaboration was made with various municipalities and Education Directorates.www.madmatherasmus.com website was established.Project presentation PPTs and promotional videos were added to our Youtube Channel.eBook of Mathematical Recipes was created.
