Akku leer-und jetzt?

Objectives In the project "Battery empty - and now what?" youth workers from Germany, Italy and Belgium want to sensitise young people to the topic of energy consumption. The young people should know how electricity is generated. They should test and reflect on how they use energy at the youth center and at home. The aim is to get them to consciously use energy and to collect ideas on how they can save energy with small everyday gestures. Activities In a first step, the youth workers will acquire knowledge in their networks and work out methods in a meeting how to introduce young people to the topic and guide them to save energy. In a second step, the young people will experiment in several national activities how electricity is generated and used and collect concrete ideas on how to save electricity. In a meeting, youth workers and young people will evaluate the project. Impact With this project, the youth workers hope to create an awareness for the economic and ecological aspects of energy consumption among the young people. The awareness is a contribution to the sustainable use of energy. The young people see that they can contribute to climate protection themselves. With their new knowledge and the practical implementation of ideas, they should show other people that everyone can contribute to saving energy and protecting the climate.
