87 million Europeans have a disability, less than 50% are employed. Supported Employment (SE) is the proven method to gain employment, employer engagement is key to the process. SE Professionals struggle with employer engagement. the BEO project develops specialized training for the to improve their confidence and employer engagement skills. This empowers SE Professionals to fully advocate for their clients and to address employer concerns, leading to increased employment.

BEO develops a blended training package in employer engagement for SE Professionals (WP3) and a Good Practice Guide aimed at employers (WP4). To fully align the development of these resources with the needs of the target groups, a Detailed Needs Analysis (WP2) is conducted across five European countries. Moreover, development occurrence in complete co-creation with all organisations in the BEO partnership and with relevant stakeholders. The training package is piloted by 50 SE Professionals.

The BEO deliverables (training package & Good Practice Guide) are actively disseminated via national and European networks of the BEO partnership. By reaching SE Professionals in 21 countries, employer engagement greatly improves throughout Europe and increase the chance of employment of disabled people. In particular we aim to improve the skills of SE Professionals working in vocational education, to raise aspirations for youth with disabilities via successful internships.
