Quality Assurance for All? Ensuring quality of youth work

Objectives To understand the key features of frameworks used to ensure the quality of non-formal learning activities in youth work. To design and implement a quality assurance model tailored to non-formal education activities that promote an intersectional approach, human rights, and common EU values. To support the development of competences among young people, trainers, and youth workers to promote an intersectional approach, human rights, and common EU values in quality assurance for youth work. Activities A research phase, including a state-of-the-art report on quality assurance in the European youth sector, considering non-formal learning activities addressing intersectionality, human rights, and common EU values. A participatory phase, so that we co-construct a quality assurance model together with youth workers, trainers, and young people in general, followed by a capacity building activity to support the development of competences to use and test the quality assurance model. Impact A quality assurance model developed from a participatory and democratic approach. Accessible and relevant quality assurance methods (including a MEAL framework) for non-formal learning activities that focus on intersectionality, human rights, and common EU values. Better ownership of the process of monitoring, evaluation, and learning of non-formal learning activities in the youth sector.
