โถObjectives
We are pursuing several key objectives with this project: 1. Promotion of the English language: As the participating schools come from different countries, English is used as the common working language (lingua franca). This strengthens the students' written and spoken communication skills and promotes the practical application of their foreign language skills in a real-life context. 2. Strengthening digital skills: The students should learn to use digital devices and software solutions in a targeted manner โ for example, when creating specifications and requirements documents, exchanging production drawings or modelling 3D objects on the computer. 3. Practical teamwork in international groups: Working together in international project teams promoted intercultural skills, teamwork and a sense of responsibility. The pupils actively experienced the entire production process from idea to manufacture. In addition, the project aimed to give students a realistic insight into transnational production processes and raise their awareness of sustainability and European cooperation.
โถActivities
Due to the ongoing digitalisation and internationalisation of the labour market, learners must acquire key competences at an early stage that enable them to communicate and collaborate effectively within international teams. In the technical field in particular, digital tools, English language proficiency, and intercultural competences are of crucial importance. At Hans-Sachs-Berufskolleg, it became evident that many learners are reluctant to use English actively and face challenges in understanding complex production processes as integrated systems. Meanwhile, students at the partner institution XABEC in Valencia demonstrated a strong need for practical, vocationally-oriented language and technical skills, such as producing technical drawings using CAD systems. The project was launched to address these needs by bringing together learners from Germany and Spain in a hands-on, transnational production process, enabling them to jointly design and manufacture a workpiece from the initial concept to the final product.
