▶Objectives
The project aimed to strengthen the capacity of educators and organisations to engage and support NEETs and ELETs by enhancing their pedagogical, social, and digital competences. Specifically, it sought to (1) build a transnational cooperation network between partners in Spain, Belgium, and Türkiye; (2) increase teachers’ knowledge and confidence in working with disadvantaged learners; (3) design and test innovative training tools and methodologies; (4) promote European-level networking and peer learning among educators; and (5) raise awareness among teachers, policymakers, and the public about the challenges and opportunities linked to NEETs and ELETs. The ultimate goal was to empower adult educators with practical, inclusive strategies to re-engage learners and contribute to a more equitable and socially cohesive Europe.
▶Activities
The project was implemented through a series of interconnected activities combining research, training, co-creation, and dissemination. Three five-day transnational mobilities were organised in Belgium, Spain, and Türkiye, focusing respectively on identifying NEET needs, designing solutions, and developing the training platform. Each mobility gathered educators, trainers, and researchers to exchange practices, design materials, and test outputs. An online training platform was developed and launched to host the digital course and related resources. A booklet, “Bridging the Gap: Effective Approaches for NEETs and ELETs,” was produced and disseminated in multiple languages. Finally, an Info Day held during the 2025 CIISE International Conference presented the project results to an international audience. Regular meetings and digital tools ensured sound coordination and monitoring throughout implementation.
▶Impact
The project delivered tangible and sustainable results aligned with its objectives. Its main outputs include: - The academic booklet “Bridging the Gap”, analysing NEET and ELET challenges and presenting best practices and policy insights; - The We NEET You! training programme, composed of three interactive modules focusing on inclusion, innovative pedagogy, and transitions to employment; - The digital platform www.weneetyou.com, providing open and free access to all materials; and - Three training mobilities and one Info Day that strengthened transnational cooperation and peer learning. The project achieved all its planned objectives, enhanced educators’ competences, and promoted European cooperation in adult education. It also created sustainable resources that will remain available for at least 24 months beyond the project’s end, ensuring long-term impact.
