The From Home to Europe project aimed to strengthen local sustainability as a key driver for fostering a broader sense of collectivity in Europe. Our primary objective was to contribute to job growth at both local and European levels, reduce social inequality, and promote the implementation of the 2030 Agenda. Specifically, we sought to train adult educators on the importance of local development in driving economies and societies forward and its role in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We also aimed to share processes for sustainable local entrepreneurship, educate trainers on local needs to create a cohesive European strategy, and highlight the role of migration in community and cultural development. By equipping adult educators with knowledge about the opportunities local development offers to reduce inequalities and generate sustainable jobs, we aspired to foster a sense of both local and European unity. Through the newly developed educational materials, we aimed to provide partner organizations with high-quality resources to train adult learners in local and European development.

Within the From Home to Europe project, we implemented a variety of activities aimed at promoting local development, sustainability, and European collectivity. These activities included: - Training for Adult Educators: We provided specialized training to 15 adult educators on the importance of local development in supporting sustainable economies, addressing local needs, and fostering a stronger European community. - Creation of Educational Materials: We developed new educational resources, including an expert course on the significance of local development featuring non-formal learning activities, as well as a guide on local development movements and initiatives in Spain, Ireland, and Italy. - Three Local Workshops: Each partner country organized three workshops to showcase the project results, train adult educators and learners on how to use the course and guide, and provide information on real opportunities and local projects with social impact. - Transnational Exchange of Best Practices: We facilitated the exchange of successful local initiatives and projects among partners during our two transnational meetings in Granada and Dublin.

The From Home to Europe project resulted in several concrete outputs and key achievements. First, we developed and implemented an expert course designed to train adult educators in local development, sustainability, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This course equipped 15 educators with the skills to teach about local entrepreneurship and sustainable economic growth. Second, we produced a comprehensive guide that compiled successful local development initiatives from Spain, Ireland, and Italy. This guide serves as a resource for educators and organizations looking to implement similar projects in their communities. A key outcome was the successful organization of an in-person training session in Italy, where the expert course was introduced and tested. This event allowed participants to engage with the content and provide feedback for course improvement. We also organized three public multiplier events in the participating regions to share the project’s findings, raise awareness of the role of local development in European cohesion, and encourage civic engagement. Overall, the project has directly contributed to enhancing the skills of adult educators.
