▶Objectives
The three universities of this project and the three secondary schools will be pioneers in designing a new educational model based on how to effectively acquire competences and know-how in astronomy and radioastronomy. The graduates will be better prepared to face the challenges of our global world. The project will also involve students from different disciplines. They will have an international experience with all the values linked to it.
▶Activities
Initially, we will define a pre-model of intervention common to all the universities involved. This entails literature review both at educational and subject-field level on astronomy and radioastronomy. Then, we will involve local communities, building up existing networks and enlarging them. This activity will include meetings, surveys and any other suitable channel to involve communities. In addition, teachers and support staff will be consulted and delivering of the processes’ outcomes.
▶Impact
This project will be focused on defining a new educational model in which we will integrate astronomy and radioastronomy knowledge in an effective way, firstly in the field of ICT-related Degrees. This could serve as a basis for application in other Degree programs. The proposal is aligned with several of the sustainable development goals of the 2030 Agenda, such as quality education (SDG4), gender equality (SDG5), decent work (SDG8) or reducing inequalities (SDG10).
