โ–ถObjectives

The Butterfly Effect project aimed to achieve several critical objectives through its implementation. Primarily, it sought to explore the impact of culture and the arts on society, focusing on fostering common values and civic engagement while bridging intercultural, intergenerational, and social divisions. By experimenting with various methods of communicating these values to event participants, the project intended to enhance understanding and participation in cultural events. Additionally, it aimed to facilitate knowledge exchange among partners through presentations and documentation, thereby improving organizational capacity and work quality. The project also focused on assessing the effectiveness of cultural events in promoting civic engagement and inclusion. By engaging staff, event participants, and peers in a collaborative bottom-up approach, it aimed to evaluate civic participation comprehensively. Ultimately, the Butterfly Effect project sought to create a meaningful impact on participating organizations and their communities by fostering mutual learning and developing innovative strategies for promoting shared European values through cultural activities.

โ–ถActivities

The project began with a kick-off meeting in France, where the partners signed the partnership agreement and presented the project at the Diskover conference. This phase set the stage for collaboration and dissemination of the project's goals. In March-April 2024, the first mobility took place in France, where members of the Buzludzha Project Foundation engaged in job shadowing during the Reperkusound festival. This experience offered participants work-based learning opportunities through workshops, and one-on-one sessions. An intermediary meeting in Bulgaria in June 2024 allowed partners to assess progress, address issues, and plan future activities. This phase included cultural venue visits and networking with local professionals. The second mobility in August 2024 involved MEDIATONE members participating in job shadowing at the Open Buzludzha Festival in Bulgaria. Concurrently, they conducted a survey to evaluate the festival's impact on civic engagement. The project concluded with a final meeting in France in October 2024, where results were shared at the Diskover conference, emphasizing dissemination and knowledge exchange among cultural professionals.

โ–ถImpact

The Butterfly Effect project produced several concrete outputs and results, enhancing its impact on cultural engagement and civic participation. A comprehensive handbook was developed, documenting methodologies, findings, and best practices to serve as a valuable resource for cultural professionals. Additionally, a website was created to disseminate information about the project, share resources, and give access to the handbook in a digital form to be downloaded for free. The project also included a survey conducted during the Open Buzludzha Festival, which gathered quantitative data on the festival's impact on civic engagement and shared values. This empirical research provided insights into how cultural events can foster social cohesion. Through job shadowing experiences and workshops, participants gained valuable skills and knowledge, enhancing organizational capacity and work quality for both MEDIATONE and the Buzludzha Project Foundation. Finally, the project culminated in a presentation at the Diskover conference, where results were shared with a broader audience of cultural professionals, extending the project's impact beyond immediate participants and contributing to discussions on promoting European values through culture
