Our aim was to nurture and develop collective and individual professional practices in the field of residential addiction care (RAC). To achieve this, we sought to encourage interaction and the sharing of expertise between RAS professionals at European level. We also wanted to develop sustainable quantitative and qualitative links between RAS organisations in Europe, in order to strengthen the skills of professionals and improve the quality of care. Another key objective was to implement a collective Franco-Belgian voice on the European medico-social scene, to influence decision-makers and secure political support for therapeutic communities. The project has achieved these objectives by creating tangible synergies between the players in the sector.

Three major activities have been implemented. Firstly, we have enriched and developed the learning of professional practices in the residential care by defining new European mobility projects, with precise ambitions and dedicated support. Specific teaching and methodological tools, such as a follow-up booklet and qualitative questionnaires, have been developed for addiction professionals taking part in mobility projects, guiding them towards a better understanding of the practices observed so that they can adapt them effectively to their own context. Secondly, we supported the development of Ecett Academy, Europe's first digital space dedicated to learning about ARH practices. This platform has been enriched with professional experience pathways, facilitating the exchange of expertise on a large scale. Finally, we have co-constructed and submitted a bid to organise the European EFTC conference in 2026, a crucial step forward in raising the profile of French and Belgian organizations.
