Objectives

We increased awareness on the subject of the endangered natural global resource—water, the crucial source of life on Earth—by recognizing its quality, demands, and threats on both a local and global scale. We raised participants' awareness of sustainable consumption and environmental protection and encouraged them to change their attitudes toward the environment, particularly in terms of water usage and protection. We established an open educational foundation based on environmental research. We developed students' transversal and cross-sectoral skills, as well as their versatility, in order to effectively assist them in becoming well-rounded young graduates, ready for successful future careers. Students combined skills and knowledge while developing activities in various educational fields such as ICT, Arts, Biology, Foreign Languages, Geography, Psychology, and Chemistry—at least 40% of these students improved these skills. We increased the capacity of both instructors and students to improve their ICT, language, and intercultural abilities. Activities

The project was aimed at emphasizing the importance of water in general and human life in particular. We had opted to start the project with activities that raised green consciousness among participants by demonstrating partners' experiences and developing methods for water sustainability. Second, we concentrated on water and its significance for people as living organisms, as well as their survival. Third, the relationship between water and the well-being of the planet was investigated.

Impact

Initial and final questionnaires were used to measure students' attitudes towards water sustainability. A Water Protection Contract, a compendium of teaching material, a collection of water-related activities, letters, brochures, and extracurricular eco-activities were created. Students became more eco-aware, improved their language, organisational, and digital skills, and were included in activities at the European level. Teachers improved the material base, and schools became more visible in the community.
