▶Objectives
The eSleep_dHealth project objectives are: • O1 Strengthen collaboration among the project partners – E.C.H.R. d.o.o. (NetHub), University of Split (UNIST), Reykjavik University (RU), University of Crete (UOC), and Mediterranean Economic Foresight Institute (IPEMED) – through the development of joint training programme. • O2 Develop teaching staff and student competencies in open pedagogy and design thinking for curriculum and content design. • O3 Enhance the capacity of universities to foster social innovation competencies among students and staff. • O4 Train students of medical and engineering professions to become drivers of social innovation to reduce prevalent harsh consequences of sleep disorders. • O5 Contribute to reducing the digital divide affecting older adults and populations in remote areas. • O6 Establish the foundation for a joint master’s programme on sleep medicine, digital health, and entrepreneurship across the partner universities.
▶Activities
The eSleep_dHealth project was structured into five Work Packages (WPs), each with a clear focus and set of activities. WP1 – Project Management ensured effective coordination, monitoring, and quality management, including regular partner and Steering Committee meetings. WP2 – Design of eSleep_dHealth Curriculum and OERs included the first short staff training on open pedagogy and design thinking, the development of a three-module curriculum and OERs, and assessment of the curriculum to ensure quality and applicability. WP3 – Design of Social Innovation Toolkit for Digital Sleep Medicine involved the second short staff training on fostering innovation skills in higher education, the creation of the Social Innovation Toolkit, and internal and external assessment of the Tookit. WP4 – Implementation and Assessment of eSleep_dHealth OERs and Joint Social Innovation Incubator focused on implementation of the course, launching the Joint Social Innovation Incubator, and organizing two learning expeditions for work with vulnerable groups. WP5 – Communication, Dissemination, and Exploitation aimed to maximize project visibility and ensure sustainability through the website, social media, promotional materials, and four conferences.
▶Impact
The eSleep_dHealth project produced following results: • WP 1 - 4 Partnership Agreements signed, Project Management Plan developed, 4 transnational partner meetings held, 16 Steering Committee meetings held, 8 internal progress reports prepared • WP2 - 15 participants trained in design thinking and open pedagogy, 15 Europass certificates issued, eSleep_dHealth Curriculum and OERs developed, curriculum assessment prepared. • WP3 – 17 participants trained in innovation skills, 17 Europass certificates issued, Social Innovation Toolkit for digital literacy and inclusive sleep medicine interventions developed, internal and external assessment conducted. • WP4 - eSleep_dHealth course (84 students) and Joint Social Innovation Incubator (35 students) implemented, OERs and incubator assessment developed, 2 Learning Expeditions organized (Crete, Split) and in total 59 Europass certificates issued, 11 student innovation solutions developed during Learning Expeditions. • WP5 - Communication, Dissemination, and Exploitation Plan developed, project website, logo, and promo materials created, 4 project conference organized, 2 promotional videos produced, 13 social media posts and 19 web articles published.
