Objectives

To support primary teachers’ implementation of Meaningful Physical Education that is inclusive and accounts equitably for the diversity of the student population. This will be achieved by promoting collaboration between primary teachers and teacher educators across five European countries to develop and share evidence-based resources with those responsible for primary school physical education. Resources and sharing events will provide direction on how to implement Meaningful Physical Education.

Activities

Year 1: Transnational project meeting; Online training of Champion teachers of Meaningful PE (n=10 total) in five countries. Year 1-3: Collaboration between teachers and teacher educators to implement Meaningful PE; Sharing and evidence gathering of pedagogies related to inclusion and diversity. Year 3: Sharing activities, development of resources and sharing events to support primary teachers to implement Meaningful PE; Transnational project meeting.

Impact

The project activities will result in practical and accessible evidence-based resources to guide primary teachers how to implement Meaningful PE that is inclusive and accounts equitably for the diversity of the student population. Sharing activities will support primary teachers to implement Meaningful PE in Europe. Our ambition is that every child in Europe can have meaningful PE experiences that are inclusive and attend equitably to the diversity of the student population.
