The DIGIZENSHIP project aimed to empower rural adults by increasing their awareness of European citizenship opportunities, enhancing digital literacy, and fostering civic engagement. The project was designed to address the specific challenges faced by rural communities, where access to EU programs, digital tools, and participatory opportunities is often limited. Increase awareness of european citizenship opportunities Provide clear, accessible information about EU rights, mobility programs, and civic engagement possibilities. Develop the DIGIZENSHIP Toolkit, making EU-related knowledge available and understandable to rural adults. Enhance digital literacy and readiness Equip participants with the necessary digital skills to navigate EU online platforms, e-government services, and civic tools. Use interactive micro-learning courses (micromoocs) to ensure easy and flexible learning. Promote civic engagement and Participation in democratic life Organize hackathons and mentorship workshops to foster active participation in EU programs. Connect rural communities across Italy, Greece, and Lithuania, creating a transnational peer-learning network.

Activity 1 DIGIZENSHIP toolkit on EU citizenship opportunities Developed an open-access educational resource available on www.digizenship.eu. Structured into three learning modules covering EU rights, mobility programs, and digital civic engagement. Activity 2 Workshops and hackathons for rural adults Conducted in Italy, Greece, and Lithuania, engaging 90 rural adults in interactive learning sessions. Organized mentorship workshops to help participants apply EU opportunities in real life. Hosted multiplier events with 60 participants and a final online event, gathering key stakeholders to discuss project impact. 3 Online community forum & digital repository (https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/11kpZV1rwYE0FOnXKNuJzIJPnNyZNam9L?usp=sharing - https://www.facebook.com/groups/1640669236258070 Created a forum for continuous discussions, allowing participants to connect and share experiences.
