Despite the increasing need for educators to have a basic understanding of AI and data literacy to engage positively, critically, and ethically with these technologies and to exploit their full potential for professional development, many primary school teachers lack this foundational knowledge. The main objective of the project was to enhance understanding of the challenges and opportunities associated with the responsible and interdisciplinary use of AI-driven tools in primary education. By addressing this, the project aimed to improve the digital literacy of all primary school teachers, including those with limited STEM experience, through targeted training and tools to implement AI-driven pedagogy. This approach enabled teachers to engage ethically and effectively with AI technologies, work more effectively with diverse learners in technology-enabled environments, and ensure that teaching careers remain relevant amidst the ongoing digital transformation of schools.

The activities carried out were as follows: - A two-day meeting in the Czech Republic (M2) provided an overview of the project, including administrative and financial matters. A detailed work plan for WP2 was shared, outlining target groups, tasks, responsibilities, tools, and deadlines. - Focus groups held in each country to gather teachers' needs regarding resources and tools for integrating AI into learning practices, which informed the creation of the AI-Teach Handbook. - The first draft of the AI-Teach Handbook produced and published online in four languages (English, Italian, Czech, and Polish) on the project website. - An online platform for delivering the Handbook developed. - The Training Programme created. The training mobility released in Italy, including pre-tests, lessons, workshops, and follow-up activities. - Pilot Testing conducted in each country, focusing on Handbook completeness, usability, layout, accessibility, effectiveness, and inclusion. - A two-day meeting in Poland (M12) for revision of testing results and improvements for the final version of the Handbook. - The final version of the Handbook produced in all partner languages. - National dissemination events promoted the Handbook.

TANGIBLE RESULTS The AI-Teach HANDBOOK for primary school teachers included (1) a collection of online, free AI tools for classroom use, (2) at least three lesson plans per tool, and (3) methodological notes. It was delivered in .pdf format and online via a platform in all partner languages. The AI-Teach TEACHER TRAINING MOBILITY provided basic concepts on AI and data literacy, emphasising ethical and responsible AI use to enhance student learning. Based on the DigCompEdu framework, the training covered: a) Fundamentals of AI concepts; b) Application of AI in education (efficient, ethical, and responsible use); c) Managing educational data ethically and responsibly; d) Ethical implications of AI applications. INTANGIBLE RESULTS Participating Organisations: Enhanced skills in implementing AI-based learning, professional development, and international collaboration. Teachers: Improved AI and data literacy, knowledge of AI-based learning, and motivation to engage in training. Stakeholders: Increased awareness of the challenges and opportunities in using AI in primary education.
