▶Objectives
The project’s main goal was to foster cultural awareness among our students, helping to break down cultural barriers. Since cultural awareness is a broad concept, we divided it into the following specific objectives: - our students have gained a deeper self-understanding. - our students have developed greater appreciation for people who are different from themselves. - our students have improved their interpersonal skills, allowing them to connect more meaningfully with people from other cultures. - our students have become aware of how cultural differences shape behavior, work, and communication. With these objectives in mind, we prioritized inclusion and diversity. We aimed to help our students understand their own identities and their role in society, while recognizing the importance of making everyone feel included. We believe this awareness will foster better communication and collaboration in multicultural settings—especially relevant in today’s globalized world. Given the increase in migration and refugee movement, we also felt it was vital that students understand and support those coming from different backgrounds by giving them insight in the reasons behind migration and the influx of refugees into their countries.
