We wanted to build a partnership that would provide us with inspiration, critical external insight, new experiences and become the basis for building future partnerships, including for other European projects such as the Erasmus+ Teachers' Academy. We also hoped that our Irish partners would share with us their experiences of the process of developing and working with teachers on the new Irish core curriculum, which would be useful not only in the daily work of the Foundation for Good Education, but in its advocacy and expert work for the education system (participation in discussions and analytical work on the reform of the Polish school curriculum). The Irish partner was also keen to broaden its range of partners, including NGOs and also a non-Western European country, and hoped to be able to identify solutions that are not present in their teacher education programmes, but which have the potential to address teachers‘ departures from school and to build a more diverse educational culture, not so focused on competition and students’ academic performance.

We implemented the following activities: 1. a diagnosis of the challenges towards teachers, teacher education and the daily work of our institutions concluded with the development of a country fiche (country report) 2. joint analysis of challenges and needs resulting from the diagnosis (virtual kick-off meeting) combined with planning of study visits and workshops 3. study visit of the Polish team (from FDE/SE) to the partner in Maynooth - observation of classes, observation in schools, presentation of solutions and tools and educational context, discussion of similarities and differences 4. study visit of the Irish team (from MU DE) to the partner in Warsaw - observation of classes, observation in schools, presentation of solutions and tools and the educational context, discussion about similarities and differences 5. a workshop day in Warsaw devoted to deepening the understanding of the solutions identified as inspiring and promising 6. a webinar in the form of 3 videos presenting the conclusions of the meeting 7. a conference to disseminate effective educational strategies in Warsaw with the virtual participation of partners from Maynooth.

The following products were produced: 1. and 2. country fiches (Poland and Ireland) containing a diagnosis of the challenges to teachers, teacher education and the daily work of our institutions - in English 3. final report describing the project experience, indicating lessons learned, similarities and challenges identified - in both languages 4. video recording of the dissemination conference panel with Polish subtitles, in the form of a webinar 5. webinar in the form of 3 videos presenting the conclusions of the meeting 6. presentation by Dr Majella Dempsey, co-author of the new Irish core curriculum, on the new curriculum - for the panel, useful for teams working in Poland on curriculum reform
