By implementing the RURAL’COM project in Miercurea-Ciuc, Cavan, and Verviers, we aimed to empower rural communities and educators to address climate change and sustainability challenges. Our goal was to strengthen community resilience, promote sustainable solutions, and actively contribute to climate action. These regions, rich in natural resources and reliant on agriculture, face climate threats like floods, resource depletion, and economic pressures. Through this project, we provided sustainable strategies to protect natural resources, support eco-friendly practices, and reduce geographical isolation by fostering collaboration. In Romania, where rural development is still in its early stages, we sought to instill a culture of sustainable management, ensuring long-term environmental, social, and economic well-being​.
