One of the terms we’ve all heard a lot in recent years is “Global Warming.”It’s nearly impossible to talk about weather or natural disasters without bringing it up.But how is our planet actually heating up,and what does that mean for us? Since our main goal is to stop or at least slow down global warming,it’s super important to understand what’s causing it.In our project,we looked at how global warming affects different countries and what kinds of solutions they’re trying.We wanted to help students become more aware,responsible,and able to think critically and scientifically.Through our eTwinning projects,we explored climate change, how to live in harmony with nature, how to use resources wisely, and how to recycle more.Along the way, students improved their tech and digital skills,learned to adapt,think creatively,and communicate across cultures.Nature also teaches us a lot—it helps reduce stress,supports learning,and improves both mental and physical health.Plus,technology breaks down language and social barriers,helping students grow and learn in new ways.Mixing traditional education with modern tools not only supports sustainable learning but also helps prevent school dropout by making learning more engaging and meaningful.

Our 18-month project included mobility activities in each participating country,allowing students to engage directly with sustainability practices.In Turkey,visits to wind farms,biomass plants,and solar panel facilities were combined with hands-on experiments and workshops.These activities enabled students to understand the practical importance of renewable energy sources through active participation.In Slovenia,the first country to be designated a World Green Destination,students experienced its lush, unspoiled environment while learning about the protection of biodiversity and the conservation of natural and cultural heritage.Romania, a major EU producer and exporter of cereals and oilseeds—especially corn, wheat,and sunflower—highlighted the environmental and economic relevance of sustainable agriculture.Students also explored the crucial roles of water and bats in maintaining agricultural ecosystems.In Poland,the focus was on waste reduction and recycling,particularly through the Deposit Return System (DRS) for beverage containers, which aims to address the current recycling rate of below 50%.Through these diverse experiences,students developed a deeper awareness of sustainability challenges and practices across Europe.

As outlined in our project application, students measured their carbon footprints by answering structured questions and successfully reduced their environmental impact.This process enhanced their understanding of sustainability.Before the project began,a parent survey collected data on average household use of water,electricity,and natural gas.The final survey showed measurable improvements influenced by the project.Students also used a custom-developed mobile app to answer topic-related questions and engage with interactive tasks.Visits to facilities using solar,wind,and bio-waste energy,along with workshops, supported hands-on learning.Outcomes and financial details were shared via social media, websites, parent meetings, and school events to ensure accessibility.A collaborative documentary,a joint output of the project, is being prepared and will be disseminated through school platforms, media outlets, and video channels.By project’s end,school principals developed strategic plans addressing energy use, environmental protection,and climate adaptation. Long-term cooperation among our countries promotes cultural exchange and supports the project's goal of connecting environmental responsibility with future-oriented freedom.
