β–ΆObjectives

Through this project, we aimed to develop the competencies of 42 youth workers from Romania, Lithuania, and Bulgaria in designing, adapting, and applying non-formal education methods focused on financial management for young people aged 18–25. One of our key objectives was to implement a financially accurate and engaging non-formal education program that would reach and benefit at least 900 young people, helping them gain a better understanding of how to manage their personal finances. Additionally, we sought to create a strong and supportive network of competent youth workers who can continue to assist both young people and other professionals in the field of youth work, thus ensuring long-term impact and sustainability of the project's results.

β–ΆActivities

The project included a comprehensive training and mentoring program for 42 youth workers from six different cities across Romania, Lithuania, and Bulgaria. These activities aimed to develop their competencies in delivering non-formal education (NFE) sessions focused on financial management. As part of the implementation, we conducted three editions of the financial education program, reaching over 900 young people, including at least 10% from disadvantaged backgrounds or with fewer opportunities. To ensure long-term impact and local engagement, we established Financial Education Youth Clubs in each of the six cities involved. These clubs provided young participants with a space to continue learning and applying their financial knowledge. Additionally, we offered three months of post-program mentoring to support the youth in integrating the newly acquired financial skills into their daily lives.

β–ΆImpact

The project resulted in several concrete outputs that significantly contributed to improving financial literacy among young people in Romania, Lithuania, and Bulgaria: Development of a Financial Education Module consisting of 30 non-formal education methods specifically designed to enhance financial literacy and financial management skills among youth. Creation of an interactive online app targeting young people, which allows users to practice financial decision-making in a simulated environment and learn from the consequences of their choices, thereby strengthening their practical financial knowledge. Implementation of 180 financial education workshops with a total of 900 young participants aged 18–25 across six cities: IaΘ™i, Craiova, Varna, Plovdiv, Vilnius, and Kaunas. As a direct result of these activities, 300 young people in each partner country improved their financial literacy and gained essential skills to manage their personal finances more effectively.
