With the project, we aimed to achieve a structural strengthening of the trainer pools within the partner organisations, thereby contributing to the professionalisation of their work. One of the key objectives was to prepare a handbook for LGBTIQ+ and other organisations working with and for marginalised groups of young people, providing simple practical examples and guidance on how to establish trainer pools in non-formal education. We sought to develop innovative educational approaches and methods for the inclusion and participation of young people from marginalised groups in socio-political processes, such as elections, and through this to train new trainers and enhance the competences of existing ones. At the same time, we aimed to ensure better inclusion and political participation of young people by involving them in non-formal education and by strengthening the capacities of the organisations working with them. The project also aimed to empower local, national, and European LGBTIQ+ organisations to apply youth work and non-formal education approaches in their activities, thereby contributing to greater quality and recognition of youth work among key stakeholders.

Within the framework of the project, we carried out the following activities: training sessions and long-term mentoring for new trainers at the Ljubljana Pride Association, local trainings for trainers within Lunaria, as well as training and long-term mentoring for new trainers also implemented by Lunaria. We also organised local training for the Ljubljana Pride’s pool of trainers and local training for trainers of Saplinq. In addition, we held an international training course for trainers in Slovakia, conducted a study visit in Slovenia, and prepared a manual on how to establish your own pool of trainers. We also developed 27 thematically diverse educational modules, created by trainers from all partner organisations.

The project produced several concrete results that contribute to the professionalisation of youth work with LGBTIQ+ young people and promote their socio-political participation. One of the main achievements is the development of educational modules with innovative methodologies, designed for working with LGBTIQ+ youth and for training those who work with them to support their engagement in socio-political processes, such as elections and other forms of civic participation. In addition, we prepared a manual containing clear steps and guidance on how to establish a pool of trainers, along with advice on strengthening and further developing the pool once it has been established. The project also contributed to the establishment and strengthening of pools of trainers across all partner organisations, ensuring the sustainable use of knowledge and methodologies and enabling the broader impact of the project at local, national, and European levels.
