With the project "Diversity is worth it", the Secondary School & Polytechnic School St. Georgen / Gusen and Instituto Compensivo "Empoli Est" will support pupils with special needs in particular. The aim is to promote diversity and inclusion and European identity, citizenship and values. This is to be achieved by strengthening the competences of teachers and the exchange of best practice methods between the two schools.

At the heart of the project are two student and teacher exchanges - one in Empoli and one in St. Georgen / Gusen. Best practice methods are tested with students. During teacher training and team teaching in language lessons in the respective schools, new methods are learned and tested. In the booklet, 10 best practice methods (5 from Italy and 5 from Austria) are recorded and presented.

Two student and teacher exchanges were carried out. Diaries kept by students and teachers who record learning outcomes. 10 units of teacher training were carried out. In each of the two schools, 20 weeks of team teaching are carried out in language lessons. The booklet with 10 best practice methods is available in print and online.
