▶Objectives
The primary objective of the project was to promote inclusion and diversity in STEM education by addressing gender disparities and fostering greater interest in STEM careers. The project also aligned with the broader goal of supporting digital transformation in education by providing innovative tools for students, teachers, and career guidance professionals. Specifically, the project aimed to create a set of resources to support STEM career awareness and engagement. These included digital stories showcasing diverse STEM professionals, interactive workshops, and a centralised online platform to host these tools. By presenting STEM as exciting, relevant, and accessible, the initiative sought to challenge stereotypes and inspire more girls to consider STEM education and careers. The ultimate goal was to demonstrate that STEM is not only achievable but also offers significant personal and professional opportunities. To maximise impact, the project also focused on broad dissemination across multiple channels - including social media, schools, stakeholder networks, and Erasmus+ platforms - to ensure the resources reached a wide and diverse audience.
▶Activities
- A0 Management: Ongoing coordination and communication between partners ensured that all activities were implemented effectively and on time. - A1 Assessment of Current Awareness Survey: A standardised survey conducted across three countries to assess young girls' perceptions of STEM. - A2 Digital Story Creation: A series of digital interviews featuring female STEM professionals from diverse fields, showcasing their educational journeys, career paths, challenges faced, and perspectives on the gender gap in STEM. - A3 National Workshops: A set of STEM-themed workshops developed and piloted in each partner country to provide hands-on learning experiences and challenge STEM-related biases. - A4 Co-Creation Workshop: Experience sharing, troubleshooting and quality checking meeting. - A5 Online Platform: A centralised online portal was created to host all project resources. - A6 Dissemination: A multi-channel dissemination strategy, including use of social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube), local school and youth networks, newsletters, and online conferences. Project results were also shared on the Erasmus+ Results Platform and promoted through email campaigns and paid advertising to reach professionals.
▶Impact
- Survey on STEM Awareness: Developed in 4 languages (EN, CZ, ES and PT), the survey gathered 31 responses. From these, 15 insightful responses were visually processed and displayed on the project website. - Digital Stories: Interviews with female STEM professionals (3 from each partner country) were produced as digital stories. These videos, available in English and the 3 partner languages (through original recordings or subtitles), were uploaded to the online platform and the project’s YouTube channel. - STEM Workshop Activities: 8 hands-on STEM workshop activities were created. Each activity is available digitally, accompanied by a facilitator guide, in all 4 languages on the project website. - Piloting Workshops: 3 piloting workshops were conducted across the partner countries, engaging a total of 60 participants. - Online Platform: A dedicated online platform (www.stem-power.eu) was created to host all project resources; survey quotes, digital stories, workshop activities, virtual library. - Online Presence: An Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok account were established share project updates, results, and engaging content about women in STEM. - Online Conferences: 4 online conferences were held, 1 in each country and 1 EU level.
