The project’s objectives align with the broader mission of improving communication accessibility and the quality of life for people with ID and CCN by equipping professionals working with PWID and CCN with the knowledge and skills needed to support the staff working in services (shops, businesses, public services, transports etc.) in intercept and deal with PWID and CCN. The project aims to foster collaboration among professionals, organizations, institutions and communities to create a network
▶Activities
The activities we are going to implement are: Identification and sharing of good practices related on AAC in partner countries considering the stakeholders involved (professionals working with people with ID and CCN, operators working in person ’services, people with ID and CCN, family and caregivers) Methodology and AAC Toolkit for professionals working with people with ID and CCN ,Project meeting in Catania, Final Events to disseminate and widespread the results of the project
▶Impact
The results we expect to bring with OPEN4ALL are: - PWID and CCN will experience increased self confidence and independence in their communication -Professionals will have enhanced competence in using AAC strategies - valuable AAC resources will be widely available and accessible for ongoing use - sustainable practices and resources will be in place to ensure continued support for all the stakeholders involved - cooperation on a transnational level
