▶Objectives
The main objective of the project was to support the implementation of the European Green Deal by developing green skills and promoting sustainable building solutions, with a specific focus on cool roofs as a means to mitigate the urban heat island effect. We wanted to increase the availability of high-quality and inclusive learning opportunities for adults, especially those with fewer opportunities, migrants, NEETs and low-skilled workers. By creating clear training pathways and accessible tools, the project aimed to strengthen employability, inclusivity, and participation in green jobs. Three specific objectives were defined: (1) to collect and share best practices on sustainable construction through a stakeholder workshop and the publication of the Cool Roofs and Green Practices Report; (2) to identify skills gaps in the roofing sector and create an interactive Digital Skills Map as a tool for VET providers, employers and job seekers; and (3) to design Sustainable Roofing Curricula consisting of four training programmes that combine theoretical knowledge with practical skills for adult learners. Together these objectives contributed to professional development, industry innovation, and climate resilience.
