Objective 1: Deliver transformative adult education to empower citizens to become advocates and agents of change towards a clean and democratic energy system. Objective 2: Cultivate long-term networks to collectively promote the concept of energy democracy - we will regularly provide events and networking meetings for the participants of the various activities to build a broad network Objective 3: Support tangible projects and solutions to climate change focussing on energy cooperatives
▶Activities
The project consists of various educational activities to reach many different target groups. It includes: 1) a four months long course on energy democracy 2) a podcast + webinar series 3) regional workshops in rural Austria 4) the publishment of an educational handbook on how to take part in democratising the energy system 5) a fieldtrip in Austria to successful community energy projects 6) a fieldtrip in Czechia to witness just transition of the coal region 7) social media + project management
▶Impact
The participants of the project will become active proponents of the green transition - they will have the knowledge and skills to advocate for a participatory and inclusive process to clean energy and how to establish a community energy project. The project will promote alternative forms of participation, raise awareness about environmental challenges related to the energy sector and offer tangible solutions to address energy poverty and fight against climate change.
