We want to focus on the issue of water quality and how it is influenced by the surrounding environment. How water quality differs in protected and unprotected areas and wheather fish farming affects its quality. We will use a multi-parameter probe for testing water. Students will learn the basics of laboratory work in the field and the basics of data interpretation and processing. Project participants will be able to recognize the differences in ecosystems in two different regions of Europe.

We will implement two study visits with a program devoted to education about ecology, nature protection and water protection. Students will learn how to work with multiparametric probe and do water analysis. Minimally two seminars on the topic of eco hazards associated with the performance of profession and sources of water pollution will take place. A comparative study of water quality from local streams, water used in aquaculture and landscape protected areas in both countries will be done.

The project will have both tangible and intangible results. The tangible output is a comparative study of water quality. Intangibles are better awareness of the eco-hazards associated with the performance of the profession, deeper kowledge of the issue of water quality and sources of pollution, experience with basics of research work and knowledge about approaches to nature protection in two European countries. Also we expect improvement of participants' English and ICT skills.
